an interesting quote

a movie character said in a movie that i saw yesterday "Life is a very sensitive transaction, you can lose all your lifetime earnings in a split of a second; you need to be careful enough and cash out at the right moment"

I think it is interesting not only from the monetary perspectives, but from the "dignity and respect aspect" of life too.

Data Projections

Cube 5.0 like anyother upgraded software patch comes with promising scope of software application. Especially PT module that will enhance complex transit modeling and will be quite helpfull in new-starts submittal process to FTA.

Although enhanced tools make Cube5 powerful, the flaws that come with the Cube5 package overweigh the benefits. For example, some of the enhanced features of PT module are only available in Cube 5.0 and older versions will not be able to benefit from those. Similarly The GIS-GUI environment of Cube 5 sux...it is incomplete, and I believe the projection issues will make it highly unattrative in planning markets. It provides only limited tools to the user to the extent that you have to toggle between the dot net environment and GIS environment.

Similarly polygon-environ feature is not available which is used for any update to the regional nets on global scale. I wonder how Cube 5 GIS environment will be useful.

Personally, I feel the mathematical modeling should be left to Cube/Voyager 4.3 beta now until we get a stable version of Cube 5. It may take more than two years from now to get a stable version of Cube5 like all other previous version.

I think in this regional planning effort we all have something to learn. There are so many other complex tools/variables in mathematical models that are in the plate and need further enhancements, migrating to Cube 5 GIS environment would be the last thing I could think of.

A new era of "change"...yes we can...yes we did

Obama won 2008 US presidential election.

History of "change" recorded.
